The Specialty Coffee industry has raised the price ceiling for many coffee producers, sometimes purchasing small volumes of boutique varieties for remarkably high prices. Still, there is often a tremendous gap between the prices paid for these unique microlots and those paid for the vast majority of coffee from any given harvest.
